Ed White directs Alaska Airlines’ growing facilities infrastructure at all of its buildings and airports across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Before assuming his current position in 2005, he served as the airline’s vice president of ground operations.

A leading advocate for applying technology to improve customer service, White was the catalyst behind “Airport of the Future,” the airline’s state-of-the-art facility that eliminates the traditional ticket counter in favor of self-service kiosks. He’s also been instrumental in advancing the airline’s Lean process improvement initiatives.
White joined Alaska Airlines in 1972 as a customer service agent in Gustavus and has held positions of increasing responsibility during his long career with the carrier. Before heading up the airline’s ground operations, he was responsible for Alaska’s ticket counter employees, ramp and fleet service agents as well as other customer service personnel.
A Seattle-area native, White holds an MBA degree from Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif.
