PRESCOTT, ARIZ. — To celebrate its new Prescott to Los Angeles service, Horizon Air announced today that it will offer Double Miles on the route (Sept. 8 through Nov. 23, 2008) for passengers with Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan frequent flier accounts.

"Our award-winning Mileage Plan is regularly voted one of the best in the industry by fliers," said Dan Russo, Horizon's vice president of marketing and communications. "With it you can build miles when flying to any of the 92 cities served by Horizon and Alaska, and when flying on our partner airlines."

Members of Mileage Plan can earn 500 miles on Horizon flights from Prescott to Los Angeles, and Double Miles Sept. 8 through Nov. 23, 2008. Mileage Plan members can earn and redeem mileage on more than a dozen airlines, including more major U.S. airlines than any other frequent-flier program. The program also offers opportunities to earn miles through an extensive network of partners, including Alaska Airlines Visa Cards, Mileage Plan Shopping, Mileage Plan Dining, Safeway and more than 30 hotel and car-rental partners worldwide. Miles can be used for free travel and class upgrades.

Tickets for the new flights are available now through horizonair.com or by calling Horizon Air Reservations at 800-547-9308.

Horizon's flights to Prescott will be operated with the airline's Bombardier Q400s. This 74/76-seat, high-speed, twin-engine turboprop is one of the most technologically advanced regional aircraft in the world. It's as quiet and comfortable as a jet – thanks to its special technology that suppresses noise and vibration, its generously sized overhead storage bins, its unobstructed under-seat space, and its ample headroom (6 feet, 5 inches). The Q400 is also among the most environmentally friendly aircraft today, burning 30 percent less fuel and producing 30 percent less CO2 than a comparably sized jet.

Inflight service, provided by two flight attendants, includes – at no extra charge – premium Jones Pure Cane Soda, Starbucks coffee, and Northwest wines and microbrews.
Horizon's fleet serves 48 cities throughout California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Baja California Sur (Mexico), and British Columbia and Alberta (Canada). Together, Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines serve 92 cities and are subsidiaries of Alaska Air Group, Inc. (NYSE:ALK).

Registration for this Double Miles offer, available starting Sept. 8, is required prior to the first qualifying flight. Double Miles is valid only on qualifying paid flights operated by Horizon Air between Prescott and Los Angeles (LAX). Travel must begin on or after Sept. 8, 2008, and be completed by Nov. 23, 2008. Flight miles must be credited to an Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan account in order to earn the Double Miles bonus. This offer is not valid for free or award travel. Double Miles based on actual or minimum flight miles. Bonus Miles do not count toward MVP or MVP Gold status. Please allow four to six weeks for travel and Bonus Miles to be credited. All terms and conditions of the Mileage Plan program apply. Offer subject to change without notice.
